Volume 2
May 15, 2025

Hi!
Welcome to tornposters.com and Vol. 2 of my newsletter.
Much like how I discovered my beloved torn posters all over Paris, this newsletter is a place for discovery too, for me and you.
Check Out Cool Clothing & Art At MACHUS
I love MACHUS, a family-owned clothing boutique in the West End of downtown Portland. You might know the owner, Justin Machus, who opened his first store Local35 in 2003. He closed that chapter in 2011 and started a new journey with his self-titled store MACHUS. Justin works with the most compelling and most progressive designers in the contemporary fashion market. And Justin, who is pretty damn good photographer himself, will be featuring a small exhibit of my "Torn Posters of Paris" photo series for the next month starting on Monday, May 19th. Make sure to check it out!
MET GALA PDX STYLE: CINEMA UNBOUND AWARDS
I am looking forward to an unforgettable evening at @PAM_CUT’s 6th annual #CinemaUnboundAwards on May 30th, 2025! Every year an incredible group of artists is showcased who push the boundaries of what’s possible in media arts. This year’s recipients are @SarahSherman, known by Sarah Squirm, a comedian and cast member of Saturday Night Live, celebrated for her surreal, body-horror inspired humor; @Marco Brambilla, the prolific London-based artist known for his elaborate and pioneering use of digital imaging technologies in video installation and art; @ColinMeloy & @CarsonEllis, the Portland-based, husband-wife duo behind the award-winning young adult book series WILDWOOD CHRONICLES; and @EarlNinsom who will construct a culinary takeover from their several award winning restaurants (@Langbaanpdx, @Paadeepdx) (PSST: And I've heard word that some of the guests will be sporting fashions based on the 'Torn Posters' of Paris!)
