Volume 1

Hi!
And welcome to my very first newsletter for tornposters.com !
Much like how I discovered my beloved torn posters all over Paris, I plan to make sure that this newsletter is a place for discovery too, for me and you.
First up: It’s April in Paris, and in Portland.
That’s because you still have the rest of the month to check out my “Torn Posters of Paris…and beyond” at the absolutely coolest shopping experience that is Cargo. Not only can you see my street photography featuring images of torn posters gathered over the last decade from Paris (as well as London, San Francisco and other exotic locales) in their elevator shaft gallery space, but you can check out such incredible vendors like Postcard Bookshop which allows you to plan your next global adventure or take a trip across the world without leaving Portland.
Besides Paris, one of my favorite spots in the world is Astoria, Oregon
Yes, this working coastal town has so much to offer. If you have a weekend to spare, I suggest you stay at the comfy, cozy and completely unique Carruthers loft in downtown Astoria. Located in the heart of this historic city, this secret loft nestled is perfect for getaways (text 503-975-5305 for availability and pricing). And speaking of getaways, the speakeasy that is Yakimon Izakaya tucked away inside Dead Man’s Isle, is truly a one-of-a-kind cocktail experience unlike any other. This new-ish Japanese whiskey bar located upstairs from Dead Man’s Isle tiki bar, is super tiny with only 4 stools to sit at the bar and a small area to stand. Currently, just open on Friday and Saturday nights it is truly a wonderful place to hang out with a very small group of friends.
Back in the City of Lights,
if you are an ephemera and paper freak like me I suggest you check out Melodies Graphiques This is absolutely one of my favorite places to spend time in all of Paris. From cards to calligraphy and stamps to sealing wax, this gentle store steals my heart (and my Euros) every time I step inside this shop just a hop and a skip away from the Seine. I especially love their Paris-themed letter press cards.
